Scholarship Description: University of Glamorgan scholarships are offered on the basis that they are potentially subject to change in the event of changes to the fee and student support regime applicable in Wales. The University also reserves the right to limit the number of bursaries available.

Tenure of award: The first scholarship payment of £1,000 or £1,500 will be paid approximately 4 months after successfully enrolling and studying on the course. The remaining £500 will be paid after successful completion of the masters, within the standard time allowed. Applicants can request that their scholarship payments go directly towards paying off their tuition fees at the time of payment, or they can be paid byBACS directly into their nominated bank account. Applicants who would prefer that their scholarship is paid directly to their fees at the time of payment will need to discuss this option with the University’s Finance department in order to set up an appropriate payment plan for the remainder.

Scholarship Description: One important task of the Nordic Africa Institute is to establish and maintain relations with African research communities. This is inter alia carried out through a Guest Researchers’ Scholarship Programme, the aim of which is to provide opportunities for African scholars to pursue their own research projects, thereby indirectly strengthening the academic milieux in African countries, and promoting scholarly exchange with Nordic research communities. This scholarship programme is directed at scholars in Africa, engaged in research on the African continent. Female researchers are especially encouraged to apply for these scholarships.

Objective of the Scholarship: The aim of which is to provide opportunities for African scholars to pursue their own research projects, thereby indirectly strengthening the academic milieux in African countries, and promoting scholarly exchange with Nordic research communities.

Value:The Guest Researchers’ scholarship includes a return air-fare (economy class), accommodation, a subsistence allowance of SEK (Swedish kronor) 300 (approx. USD 45) a day plus an installation grant of SEK 2,500 (approx. USD 370), a shared office and free photocopying facilities up to a maximum of 1,000 copies. Guest Researchers have access to a computer/MS Word at the office and have to do their own typing.

Duration:The maximum duration of the stay is 90 days.

Other benefits:The Guest Researcher is expected to give a lecture in at least one other Nordic country. Train or air tickets (economy class) and accommodation will be provided for this trip. Guest Researchers are sometimes invited to write a discussion paper for the Institute’s publications’ series or a short article for the Institute’s website. The draft of the discussion paper should be presented during the stay in Uppsala, preferably in a public forum.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Scholarship is open for the students of Asian countries.

Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: Group A scholarships are available for nationals of: Cambodia, Myanmar, Mongolia,Vietnam and Laos. Group B scholarships are available for nationals of: Sri Lanka, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines and Thailand.

Scholarship Description: AREAS provides scholarships for students, researchers and staff from the Third Countries targeted by the project (Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, The Philippines, Vietnam) in order to study, do research, training or teaching at one of the European Partner Universities (Host Universities).

Objective of Scholarship : To support financially students from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, The Philippines, Vietnam.

Number of awards offered :Scholarships will be distributed on two cohorts of applicants selected respectively in the year 2012 and 2013 for mobilities starting in the same year.

Tenure of award: Duration from 1 to 34 months, depending on the level and type of mobility

Value:Selected grantees will receive a monthly subsistence allowance paid by the Partnership for the duration of the mobility period:
Undergraduate-1,000 euro,Master-1,000 euro, PhD-1,500 euro, Post-doc-1,800 euro, Staff-2,500 euro.Included in the scholarship, the Partnership will also:
- Pay for the grantees’ travel costs.
- Provide grantees with a high quality individual insurance coverage on health, travel, accident for the duration of the mobility period.
- Waive all university fees at the Host universities. Participants at any level will not be required to pay any fees to the Host universities. Exchange students will continue paying their fees at their university of origin.

Notification:The lists are published on this web site and all applicants are notified by email of the selection outcomes within three months from the Call for Application closing (1^stCall for applications). The lists are also submitted to the Education Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) of the European Commission.
