Scholarship Description: The Ford Fellowship program will award approximately 60 predoctoral fellowships. The predoctoral fellowships provide three years of support for individuals engaged in graduate study leading to a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Doctor of Science (Sc.D.) degree. Predoctoral fellowships will be awarded in a national competition administered by the National Research Council (NRC) on behalf of the Ford Foundation. The awards will be made to individuals who, in the judgment of the review panels, have demonstrated superior academic achievement, are committed to a career in teaching and research at the college or university level, show promise of future achievement as scholars and teachers, and are well prepared to use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students.

Number of awards offered: 60 Scholarships are offered.

Tenure of award: Scholarship is offered for three years

Value:
-Annual stipend: $20,000
-Award to the institution in lieu of tuition and fees: $2,000
-Expenses paid to attend at least one Conference of Ford Fellows
-Access to Ford Fellow Liaisons, a network of former Ford Fellows who have volunteered to provide mentoring and support to current fellows.

Selection criteria: Applications will be evaluated by panels of distinguished scholars selected by the National Academies. The panels will use academic records, essays, letters of recommendation, the application itself, and other appropriate materials as the basis for determining the extent to which candidates meet the eligibility requirements and the selection criteria. Review panels may also look at additional factors such as the suitability of the proposed institution for the applicant’s plan of graduate study and the likelihood that the applicant will have at least three years remaining before they would receive the Ph.D. including at least one year of course work.

Eligibility:-Applicants should be members of staff of another University or similar institution outside the UK. They should hold a Ph.D., or be working at post-doctoral level.

The Fellow will have access, by agreement, to the holdings of Faculty and Departmental libraries, to the libraries of the Centres of African Studies and South Asian Studies and to the University Library, which houses the extensive collection of materials relating to the history of the British Empire and Commonwealth formerly housed in the Royal Commonwealth Society Library in London.

Eligibility:-You are a national of Seychelles.
-You must not be more than 50 years of age at the date of your application.
-You must have at least three (3) years’ relevant post graduate work experience. This work experience must be in a role relevant to your proposed field of study and to your employment organisation type (e.g. public sector applicants should demonstrate public sector work experience, and so on). Preference will be given to candidates with greater periods of experience.
-You possess, as a minimum, Bachelors degree (or the equivalent) from a recognised Institution of at least 3 years in length with a 2nd Class Lower Division or a grade of 12 out of 20 (60%). Note that entrance to a Masters degree in specialised medical studies will normally require you to have an appropriate first degree with strong academic results.
-Applicants for Masters in Psychology must normally possess an appropriate first degree and present evidence of membership of an appropriate professional body.
-You must have a minimum English language proficiency equivalent to an overall IELTS score of 5.0 with no band score lower than 4.5. (equivalent TOEFL scores are also accepted). Those with overall scores of lower than 6.5 who are selected for an award will be supported to undertake between 3 and 9 months pre-course English language training and will need to achieve a score of 6.5 at the end of this training with no band score lower than 6.
- You must not already hold, or be studying for, a Masters degree.

Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: The students of Seychelles can apply for this scholarship.

Scholarship Description: Australia Awards target equal participation by women and men. Applications from women are strongly encouraged, and mechanisms are in place to support women applicants and Awardees.You are an early or mid-career professional working in the Public Sector, the Private Sector or a Non-Government Organisation (Civil Society) in one of the listed priority fields of study. Eligibility: In order to be considered for an OGS, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1.Citizenship
-be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person [under subsection 95(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protections Act (Canada)] at the time of the OGS application deadline date.
-foreign students who are studying in Ontario under a temporary resident visa  or student study permit, under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada) are eligible for the allotted international student awards.  Applicants who do not have a valid temporary resident visa or student study permit at the time of application will be required to provide proof of a valid one at the time of taking up the award.
2.Registration
-be enrolled in, or plan to enrol in a graduate program for the 2013-2014 academic year at the University of Ottawa.
-full-time or part-time student status is at the time of application not a factor.
-if applying for funding for a master’s program, applicants cannot have completed more than 4 terms of their master’s program at the time of taking up the award.
-if applying for funding for a PhD program, applicants cannot have completed more than 13 sessions of their PhD program at the time of taking up the award.
3.Minimum Academic Requirements-The applicant must, at minimum, meet the following OGS academic requirements:
-If entering the first or second year of graduate studies at the time of application the applicant must have an overall average of at least A-, which is equivalent to a GPA of at least 8.0/10 at the University of Ottawa, on the last 20 one-term/semester courses completed at the time of application.
-If entering the third year of graduate studies at the time of application the applicant must have an overall average of at least A-, which is equivalent to a GPA of at least 8.0/10 at the University of Ottawa, on all graduate courses completed
-at the time of application.
-If master’s or doctoral degree marks used for calculating an applicant’s GPA are not available (e.g. courses were graded on a pass-fail basis), then the last 20 one-term/semester most recently available university marks will be used to calculate an applicant’s GPA.

Scholarship Open for International Students: The students of  Canada can apply for this scholarship and foreign students who are studying in Ontario under a temporary resident visa  or student study permit, under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada) are eligible for the allotted international student awards. Applicants who do not have a valid temporary resident visa or student study permit at the time of application will be required to provide proof of a valid one at the time of taking up the award.

Scholarship Description: Since 1975, Ontario, in partnership with Ontario’s publicly-assisted universities, has encouraged excellence in graduate studies at the master’s and doctoral levels through the awarding of Ontario Graduate Scholarships (OGS). OGS awards are merit-based scholarships available to students in all disciplines of academic study.  The OGS program is jointly funded by the Province of Ontario and Ontario universities. 

Value and duration of scholarship: An OGS is valued at a maximum of $15,000 annually ($5,000 per term) and must be held for a minimum of two consecutive terms with a full-time student status.   Awards can be taken up either in May 2013, September 2013 or January 2014.

Notification: Applicants will be notified no later that April 30, 2013.

Eligibility:
-You should have, or expect to achieve, a first or upper second class UK honours degree or equivalent qualifications gained outside the UK in an appropriate area of study. Professional Preparation Masters (PPM) Awards â€" funding for Masters courses where the focus is on the development of high-level skills and competences as a preparation for professional practice in a field relevant to the content of the course. For 2012-13, these are available in:
Archaeology; Design; Interpreting & Translation; Journalism & Publishing; Librarianship, Archives, Record Management & Information Science.

Tenure of award: Awards for doctoral study are tenable for a maximum of three years full-time and five years part-time subject to satisfactory progress. Awards for Masters study are tenable for between 9-12 months full-time and 12-24 months part-time.

What does it cover:
The type of AHRC scholarship awarded is based on an applicant’s residency status. UK applicants and EU applicants who have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years immediately preceding the start of their course are eligible for the full scholarship. This pays:
the standard UK/EU tuition fees
an annual, tax-free maintenance stipend at the standard UK research rate, currently £13,590 for Doctoral students, £9,490 for Research Preparation Masters students, and £8,845 for Professional Preparation Masters students.
Doctoral students are entitled to apply for additional funds to support fieldwork and conference attendance.
EU applicants who have not been resident in the UK for 3 years immediately preceding the start of their course are eligible for a fees-only award, paying the standard UK/EU tuition fees only.
International applicants are not eligible for AHRC funding.

Scholarship Description: The National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) is a public foundation established in 1974 under the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MCTI) of Federative Republic of Brazil. The foundation provides scholarships to graduate and undergraduate Brazilian students for a degree at the University of Oxford as part of their execution of public policies in the areas of education, science, technology and innovation. Tenure of award: The award is tenable for the period of fee liability (usually the same length as the course). What does it cover?  100% of university and college fees and a grant for living expenses equal to the UK Research Councils minimum doctoral stipend (£13,590 in 2012-13) for the period of fee liability; and any University and college continuation fee for one terrn together with a maintenance grant for a further six months following the expiration of the standard length of the course.

Scholarship Description: The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation is the largest non-government, donor-supported organization that distributes funds for brain and behavior disorder research. The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation Independent Investigator Grant offers up to $50,000 a year for two (2) years and is intended for scientist at the associate professor level (or equivalent) with national competitive supports as a principal Investigator (P.I.). The minimum admission qualification is a high-quality Bachelor degree (or an equivalent academic degree) of minimum three years duration and 180 ECTS credits (or equivalent) in a cognate or semi-cognate discipline.
-Language ability: for non-native English speaking applicants a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 (with no individual component lower then 6.00) or equivalent is required: e.g. TOEFL 577 or 91 internet-based IBT).
-Student motivation and relevance of the MSPME programme to a student’s future career aspirations.
-While professional experience such as employment or professional qualifications are not essential, these are taken into consideration when awarding scholarships. Successful scholarship candidates tend to have considerable relevant industrial experience as well as vocational or professional qualifications.

Scholarship Open for International Students: The students of Third Country and European can apply for this scholarship.

Scholarship Description: MSPME welcomes applications from candidates both from within Europe and from all countries out with the European Union. Selection is highly competitive in accordance with the entry requirements.

Value: Total offer is-
-For Category A- The total value of Erasmus Mundus scholarship will be €36,000, comprising: €12,000 toward the Participation Fee of €15,000; travel cost of €8,000; and a 16 x monthly bursary of €1,000. In addition, the total value of the MSMPE Consortium Scholarship will be €3,000 toward the Participation Fee of €15,000.
-For Category B- The total value of Erasmus Mundus scholarship will be €14,000, comprising: €6,000 toward the Participation Fees of €12,000; and a 16 x monthly bursary of €500. In addition, the total value of the MSMPE Consortium Scholarship will be €6,000 toward the Participation Fee of €12,000.

Other Benefits: All Erasmus Mundus funded students receive comprehensive travel insurance as part of their scholarship.
