UWC South East Asia Scholarships for Cambodian Students in Singapore, 2015

UWC South East Asia (UWCSEA) is offering five years scholarships for Cambodian students of outstanding personal and academic potential. The successful candidates must have good written and spoken English skills and excellent academic record in Mathematics and Khmer. Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities which include sports, music, drama and social service. The College will meet all educational and accommodation fees, meals, travel expenses to and from Cambodia and a small living allowance for the successful candidates. The closing date for applications is 1st February, 2015.

Study Subject(s): Scholarships are awarded for studying all the subjects offered by the UWCSEA.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for five years college studies.

Eligibility: The successful candidates:
-must have good written and spoken English skills;
-must have an excellent academic record in Mathematics and Khmer;
-should be able to demonstrate additional academic excellence other fields: IT, science, languages or humanities;
-should be able to demonstrate strong extracurricular activities: e.g. creativity, community service, sport.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Cambodian nationals can apply for these scholarships.

Scholarship Description: UWC South East Asia (UWCSEA) is a member of the United World College (UWC) movement and is situated in Singapore. UWCSEA has nearly 5,000 students from more than 70 nationalities on two campuses and educates students from Kindergarten 1 to Grade 12. It is one of the world’s largest and most successful International Baccalaureate Diploma schools and for more than 40 years has achieved superb exam results. Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities which include sports, music, drama and social service.

What does it cover? The College will meet all educational and accommodation fees, meals, travel expenses to and from Cambodia and a small living allowance for the successful candidates.

Selection Criteria: Not Known

Notification: Written examinations in English and Mathematics will be held on 1st March 2015 at examination centres in the Cambodian-Korea Cooperation Center (RUPP), Phnom Penh, in Life University, Sihanoukville, and in Pursat High School, Pursat province. For the 15 most successful candidates, there will be further examinations in English and Khmer, as well as interviews in Phnom Penh on Saturday 21st and 22nd of March 2015. 1st round candidates will be informed of the time and location of their test by 10th February 2015. Lists of 1st round candidates will be published at each test center on the 22nd February 2015, first round exam will be conducted on the 1st March 2015.
