Scholarship Description: A joint research project entitled Robust Transmission of 3D Video between laboratory of Information Processing and Transmission, University of Paris 13 and Centre for Digital Home, Multimedia University is looking for a PhD candidate. The aim of this PhD research is to improve the performance (in terms of QoE) of a 3D video transmission over unreliable communication networks, with the specific objectives given below:
-Low Complexity Cross Layer Optimization: The first objective is to propose a novel low complexity semi-optimized cross layer optimization for heterogeneous networks and devices, which takes into consideration the limited monthly usage quota of a typical wireless broadband.
-Distortion Model: The second objective is to come out with a mathematical relationship between the perceived 3D video quality and packet loss ratio. In other words, the work will involve estimation of Quality of Experience (QoE) of the user, based on measurable Quality of Service (QoS) metric and no reference subjective 3D video quality test.

Number of award(s): One PhD scholarship is available.

Duration of award(s): The is a dual PhD program, which means the candidate will spend 14 months at Universite Paris 13 under the supervision of Prof. Anissa MOKRAOUI and 22 months at Multimedia University under the supervision of Assoc.
