Applications are invited for The Milena Jesenská Fellowship Program for the year 2015-2016. Fellowship Program offers European journalists time off from their professional duties in order to pursue in-depth research on a topic of their choice. Milena Jesenská Fellowships are intended as an award for excellence and are directed towards experienced European journalists (including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey). Fellows will receive a stipend of EUR 7,500 for three months. The application deadline is March 28, 2015.

Eligibility:
-Milena Jesenská Fellowships are intended as an award for excellence and are directed towards experienced European journalists (including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey).
-Applicants must have worked in print, broadcast or online journalism for several years and must have an outstanding professional record. Applications by entry-level journalists or students will be rejected.
Scholarship Open for International Students: European journalists (including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey) are eligible to apply for this fellowship programme.
Scholarship Description: Milena Jesenská (1896-1944) was an outstanding journalist and mediator between the Czech and German cultures in Bohemia as well as an astute political commentator. She was detained in the Nazi concentration camp in Ravensbrück for her political involvement and resistance, where she died in 1944. She is widely known for her famous correspondence with Franz Kafka.
Number of award(s):Â Four fellowships will be offered.
Duration of award(s): The duration of fellowship is three months.
What does it cover? Fellows will receive a stipend of EUR 7,500. In addition, the IWM provides them with a personal office including access to internet, administrative and research facilities as well as other services free of charge. Travel grants of up to EUR 1,900 can be paid for project-related research trips.
Selection criteria: A jury of experts will evaluate the applications and select the finalists.
Notification:Â Applicants will be notified of the jury decision in late spring 2015. The jury is not required to publicly justify its decisions.
