Eligibility:The eligibility criteria to be considered for the Horatio Alger Quebec Scholarship Program are as follows:
-enrollment full-time in a CEGEP/college program and taking classes during Spring 2013, progressing normally toward graduation in the Spring/Summer 2013, with plans to enter a university no later than the fall following graduation
-a strong commitment to pursuing and completing a degree at an accredited public or private university in Canada
-critical financial need ($50,000 or less net income per family is preferred, if higher explanation must be provided)
-involvement in extracurricular and community activities
-a minimum Global Average R Score of 25; attend a CEGEP/college and live in Quebec, Canada
-Canadian citizenship.

Scholarship Open for International Students: This scholarship is open only for Canadian students.

Scholarship Description: As one of the nation’s largest college financial aid programs in the country, the Horatio Alger Quebec Scholarship Program is the only major scholarship effort that specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. While many aid programs are directed primarily to recognizing academic achievement or leadership potential, the Horatio Alger program also seeks students who have a commitment to use their college degrees in service to others.
