Scholarship Description: The UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources (UCL ISR) is a new UCL Institute established with the help of a grant from BHP Billiton. It mission is to generate knowledge to promote the globally sustainable use of natural resources. It does this by employing its own staff and by acting as a forum and coordination mechanism for UCL staff in different departments working on resource and environment issues, transcending the boundaries between academic disciplines. Thus it seeks to bring together multidisciplinary teams, providing critical mass and capacity for large projects. We are seeking to appoint a Research Associate to undertake research, dissemination and coordination activities related to the CECILIA2050 project and, as appropriate, within and in support of the overall research programme of UCL ISR. The CECILIA2050 (Choosing Efficient Combinations of Policy Instruments for Low-carbon development and Innovation to Achieve Europeâs 2050 climate targets) is a ten-institute FP7 European project, starting on September 1st 2012, of which UCL is a partner. This is therefore an important opportunity to make a major contribution to the Instituteâs core research programme and help to influence policy development in this area at both European and EU Member State level.
