Eligibility:
1. Nationality: Citizen of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka
2. Age: Below 40 years of age (Born on / after April 2, 1973)
3. Academic Background: Has a bachelor’s degree
4. Work Experience: Be a confirmed officer of the All-island Service in any of the Target Organizations (Ministry of Finance and Planning, Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Local Government and Provincial Councils)
5. English Skills: Has a good command of both written and spoken English. IELTS 5.5 overall or higher is preferred. For International Christian University IELTS6.5 overall is preferred.
6. Math Skills: Basic math skills are required for International University of Japan and Hiroshima University
7. Ineligibility:
-Those who are currently either awarded or scheduled to receive scholarship from a foreign fund (bachelor’s/ master’s degree)
-Those who have already taken a Master degree in a foreign country funded by foreign or governmental scholarships
-Military personnel registered on the active list or those who are on alternative military service

Scholarship Description: The Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) program has been started in Sri Lanka since 2009. Up to day, total of 45 fellows have been sent to Japan under the program. JDS program is now inviting potential applicants who understand its aims and are interested in 2 year master degree program at Japanese accepting universities for the academic year 2013-2014.The program will be instructed in English. The number of dispatches is 15 per year.

Objective of Scholarship:The purpose of the Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS) program is to support human resource development in countries that receive Japanese grant aid, targeting highly capable, young government officials and others who are expected to engage in formulating and implementing social and economic development plans and to become leaders in their countries.
