The School of European Culture and Languages will have an scholarship funded by Arts and Humanities Research Council available for PhD students. These are for commencing studies in September 2013. Applicants should hold a first-class bachelor’s degree and/or a distinction at master’s level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.Comparative Literature, French, German, Italian or Hispanic Studies are the PhD programmes available for applicants to apply.

Eligibility: - Hold a first-class Bachelor’s degree and/or a distinction at Master’s level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
-Hold an offer of a place on a full-time doctoral research degree in the School of European Culture and Languages in Comparative Literature, French, German, Italian or Hispanic Studies for the academic year commencing September 2013.
-Have a high-quality research proposal.

Scholarship Open for International Students: The SECL GTA competition is open to UK, EU and overseas fee-paying students.

Scholarship Description: Candidates must make a formal application to study on a SECL doctoral programme, and have received an unconditional offer of a place to commence their studies in September 2013.Candidates must then send a supporting statement, not exceeding 1,000 words, outlining why they feel they are suitable to be considered for this scholarship.The supporting statement should be sent to the SECL Postgraduate Coordinator.
