U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs funded The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program for Libyan students in USA. The scholars must be Libyan junior faculty in one of the program’s six academic disciplines, demonstrates understanding of higher education in Libya, and provide faculty mentors. Proficiency in English is required. The award covers Administrative, Program Costs and other facilities. Eligibility:1.Institution demonstrates strengths in and ability to host Libyan junior faculty in one of the program’s six academic disciplines: Engineering
- mechanical, computer, civil, chemical, electrical, industrial, materials, and systems ,Information Technology â€" software development, network engineering, high performance computing, information security, wireless networking, cyber infrastructure, database systems technology, and informatics Public Administration ,Public Health ,Natural Sciences â€" biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science ,TEFL/Applied Linguistics;
2.Institution is a registered institution of higher education duly organized and existing under the laws of the host institution’s state of incorporation;
3.Institution has experience designing and implementing specialized, intensive professional development programs for faculty;
4.Institution demonstrates understanding of higher education in Libya.
5.Institution will provide training in curriculum development, teaching methodologies and information technology applicable to classroom instruction;
6.Institution will provide faculty mentors;
7.Institution will provide access to the same facilities offered to university students and faculty, including but not limited to: recreation facilities, university libraries, online catalogs, discipline-specific libraries, electronic journals and resources;
8.Institution will provide housing, with private bedroom and bath for each participant;
9.Institution must be eligible to receive federal funds and not be disbarred;
10.Institution must be accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S Department of Education, as being a reliable authority.
Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: The students of Libya can apply for this scholarship.
Scholarship Description: The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program for Libya is designed to bring junior Libyan scholars to U.S. host institutions for faculty development, mentoring, and cultural exchange activities. The intent of the ten-week program is to equip grantees with the knowledge and tools needed to build the capacity of universities in Libya and to advance the education of future generations of Libyans. In addition, it lays the foundation for Libyan scholars and their U.S. hosts to develop long-term institutional relationships and to identify areas of cooperation that can be sustained beyond the grant period.
Number of awards offered: Approximately ten scholars will be placed in discipline-based cohorts at each of the six selected U.S. host institutions.
Duration of award(s): It is applicable for ten Week.

Notification: Institutions that submit proposals will be notified in writing in February 2013 of the results of the review process.
