-We are looking for ambitious and highly motivated students who will contribute to the international and multidisciplinary environment and goals of the AFIB group and of ICFO.
-We are particularly interested in students with strong background and training in physics or biophysics and experience in carrying out research in the field of biophysics.
-Positively valued will be skills in computer programming (C++, Matlab, Java), optics and statistical analysis. The students must have an internationally recognized Masterâs degree obtained after January 01, 2009.

Scholarship Description: The Advanced Fluorescence Imaging and Biophysics group (AFIB) at ICFO is looking for a highly motivated PhD student to carry out their PhD thesis at the interface between biology and physics. We are a multidisciplinary group developing and applying advanced fluorescence imaging tools to understand important biological processes. The successful candidate will work on a project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and the Marie Curie Actions that aims to develop tools to determine protein stoichiometry in the crowded environment of a cell and apply these tools to questions related to intracellular trafficking of organelles. The project will combine several cutting-edge biophysical tools with statistical analysis to address an important challenge in biological research.
