2013 Visiting Fellowships for Postdoctoral Students at University of Nottingham, UK

The University of Nottingham offers Visiting Fellowships for Postdoctoral Students from Eight Partner Countries, UK 2013

Study Subject(s):The research projects which are open to applications are Astronomy and astrophysics, Development and use of novel biofertilisers, Fetal programming of cardiovascular disease, Magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy, Neoliberalism, Democracy and the Politics of Security in Contemporary Mexico, Place-name gazetteers and data infrastructure, Quantum systems and technologies and Tandem dye-sensitized solar cells.
Course Level:The Postdoctoral level is eligible for this scholarship.

Eligibility:In 2013 the scheme will be open to a total of 30 early-career University lecturers or post-doctoral researchers currently working at recognised universities (as defined by The University of Nottingham) in one of the partner countries listed above. For the purposes of this scheme “early career” shall mean five years or less experience of working in academia on the day that the fellowship commences. The scheme is not open to students or faculty with more than five years’ experience.

Scholarship Open for International Students: This is open for eight partner countries’ students. These are Bangladesh, Brazil, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iraq, Libya, Mexico and Philippines.

Scholarship Description:The University of Nottingham’s International Office is pleased to announce the launch of the 2013 Visiting Fellowship Scheme, which will allow 30 researchers from eight partner countries the opportunity to complete a three month period of research in Nottingham.

Value: The University of Nottingham will provide a stipend of £1,200 per month for three months. By means of comparison, the UK Government recommends that students studying in the UK should expect to spend £800 per month.Accommodation will be booked on your behalf and this will be deducted from the total amount. It is expected that accommodation will be in the region of £500 per month, although this is yet to be confirmed.

Other Benefits: Additionally, The University of Nottingham will provide a contribution to fellows’ air fares. This will vary depending upon the country in which the fellow is based. The University will refund the cost of the flight up to the following maximum amounts: Bangladesh â€" £750, Brazil â€" £850, Ethiopia â€" £500, Indonesia â€" £850, Iraq â€" £550, Libya â€" £400, Mexico â€" £850, Philippines â€" £900. Receipts must be provided to receive the payment. Only economy class flights will be refunded. The stipend and the contribution to the flights will all be made in cash in Pounds Sterling upon arrival in Nottingham.
